On 22 August, we are launching our second blueprint, Continent of Play, focused on public playgrounds as critical infrastructure for Europe’s next chapter. While geopolitical tensions, economic instability, and security concerns dominate the headlines, we must also think about the long-term social foundations of Europe. Infrastructure is not just roads, railways, and energy grids — it is also the spaces that bring people together, foster connection, and shape future generations.
Together with Design Denmark and Design Museum Denmark, we’ll explore how a continent that invests in children during a crisis builds the social stability that underpins long-term prosperity.
The summit opens with a presentation on 21st Europe and our new blueprint, Continent of Play, introduced together with our design partner Spacon. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the role of design — and how, though often overlooked in political discourse, it can serve as an anchor for democracy, connection, and belonging.
From urban design that fosters intergenerational play to third spaces that promote cultural exchange, we’ll ask: How do we make room, literally and metaphorically, for shared experience in an increasingly divided world?
Presenters and panelists will be announced soon.
